Emergency managers increasingly have access to new decision-support technologies, including rapid advances enabled by artificial intelligence. However, translating these capabilities into tools that support real decisions remains a significant research challenge. This track focuses on emerging decision-support technologies for emergency management. It welcomes working tools and prototypes that address a defined emergency-management problem. Contributions may be developed with practitioners or evaluated in realistic emergency-management contexts. Earlier-stage prototypes are also encouraged where they have an identified path to deployment.
The track examines how these technologies can reliably support human judgement across planning, preparedness, response, and recovery. It particularly welcomes technologies addressing the needs of First Nations and remote communities. The track aims to bring together academics and practitioners to share applied research and identify pathways from promising prototypes to practical use.
